RENIXX benefits from company figures
- The renewable stock index, RENIXX, rises by 13.9 per cent in November / business climate index for Germany drops a little -
Münster (Germany) - The international stock market for renewable energy was very strong in November. The renewable stock exchange barometer, RENIXX (Renewable Energy Industrial Index), in which the 15 biggest international companies in the renewable energy industry are listed, rose by 110.9 index points (+13.9 per cent) to 908.3 points last month, announced the International Economic Platform for Renewable Energies (IWR) in Münster, Germany. Since the beginning of the year the RENIXX has been able to record an increase of 39.5 per cent until now. During the previous month, international wind energy stocks could show above average gains following the presentation of company figures. The Danish wind turbine manufacturer and world market leader, Vestas, achieved its highest monthly profits in November with an increase in its market price of 34.3 per cent. The stocks of the second largest American bioethanol producer, VeraSun Energy (+ 33.9 per cent) and of the German solar energy group, Conergy, (+24.0 per cent) equally shone with high double-figure growth.
In Germany, the mood in the renewable energy sector has worsened a little again. The business climate index that has been published by the IWR since 2004 fell by 1.4 points to 108.3 points in November 2006 (October: 109.7). While the current situation was assessed to be better than in the previous month again, business prospects particularly continued to look gloomy for the next six months. “The new figures indicate a slight slowdown in growth next year,” said IWR Director Dr. Norbert Allnoch. In particular, expectations regarding exports have lessened considerably, explained Allnoch.
