Wind farm Karstaedt - WKN sells German project to International Power
Husum - WKN Windkraft Nord AG has sold the turnkey wind energy project Karstaedt to International Power plc, a leading independent electricity generating company. Karstaedt which is located in the Federal State of Brandenburg has already reached commercial operation. Since the end of December 2007 ten Vestas V90 wind turbines with a total installed capacity of 20 megawatts have been producing environmentally friendly power. The hub height of the turbines is 105 m each.
Karstaedt is one of the projects WKN Windkraft Nord AG erected in 2007. Together with wind farms completed in Spain, Italy and the US, WKN constructed a total of 201 megawatts in 2007.
"We are delighted to have completed this acquisition with International Power and look forward to working with them again in the near future" said Martinus Scherweit, CEO of WKN AG. "It shows that the German market still is an attractive one for international investors."
