OSTWIND at HUSUM WindEnergy 2008 - Wind, wood and the world. Where the future gains new energy

Regensburg - HUSUM WindEnergy 2008 comes at a time of energy policy extremes. On the one hand, the sun, wind and other alternative energy sources are opening new horizons for the sustainable energy supply of the future. On the other hand, lobbyists for conventional energy providers around the world are fighting for a "renaissance" of conventional resources – and their risks. Onward to the past or back to the future? The wind energy sector is immersed in this spectrum of political positions and technical issues as it gathers in Husum this year.

The OSTWIND Group intends to find answers with a series of lectures, presentations and OSTWIND forums. Renowned consultants have been rallied to the cause – including Klaus Traube, former manager and subsequent critic of the nuclear power industry.

Technical, legal and aesthetic issues related to the development and utilisation of wind energy will be addressed, along with international and employment market policy issues. A cinematic event will add a cultural aspect to the exhibition programme.

However, the focus will be on three technical forums entitled "World Power Wind – Wind Makes the World", "Wind + Wood = Climate Protection²" and "Energy for Peace" (in conjunction with the Bundesverband WindEnergie (BWE – German Federal Wind Energy Association). Guests are also expected from various higher education institutions and from abroad.

If you want to gain new energy for the future, OSTWIND is your first choice – even during a visit to HUSUM WindEnergy 2008 from September 9 to 13, Hall 1, Booth 1B21. The complete programme is available at http://www.ostwind.de.
