Gamesa to Install 136.5 MW of Wind Power Capacity in Brazil
Madrid, Spain - Gamesa has received a new order for the supply of 65 of its G114-2.1 MW turbines at the Babilonia wind complex being developed in the town of Morro do Chap
Gamesa's G114-2.1 MW turbine is designed to yield more power at lower cost at low and medium wind speed sites, which is why it is particularly suitable for the low-turbulence wind conditions encountered in Brazil. The Brazilian orderbook for this turbine is already approaching the 1-GW mark.
This new order evidences the company's solid positioning in Brazil, an important market in which the company has entrenched itself as the number two OEM. According to MAKE Consultancy, Gamesa tripled its presence in this market in 2015, increasing its market share from 10% in 2014 to 29%.
