OWC Supports Triton Knoll Wind Farm

Asker, Norway - Triton Knoll Offshore Windfarm Limited has appointed Offshore Wind Consultants Limited (OWC) to provide project management services for the flagship innogy offshore wind farm project.

This award follows similar work which has been delivered by OWC for previous innogy projects such as Gwynt y Môr, Nordsee Ost and Galloper offshore wind farms.

“We are delighted to be supporting the Triton Knoll project at this important stage of the project and it continues a longstanding relationship with innogy projects here in the UK and also in Germany,” says Ian Bonnon, managing director of OWC. OWC will carry out the work with personnel from its office in London, UK. The contract value is undisclosed.

According to OWC, the 860MW Triton Knoll wind farm project is located 32 kilometres off the Lincolnshire coast and will be capable of generating enough energy to meet the needs of more than 800,000 typical UK homes. The project is now preparing for the start of construction of its onshore Electrical System works this summer, having secured a Contract for Difference from the UK Government in September 2017. As OWC points out, the project is now spade-ready, having received consent for the offshore array in July 2013 and the onshore electrical system in September 2016.

OWC, part of Oslo-listed energy consultancy group Aqualis ASA, is a globally focused consultancy providing independent services to the offshore renewables industry.
