TVO and plant supplier Areva and Siemens update their claimed amounts concerning Olkiluoto 3 nuclear power plant

Eurajoki, Finland - Both Teollisuuden Voima Oyj (TVO) and the plant supplier building the Olkiluoto 3 nuclear power plant unit, the Areva-Siemens consortium, updated at the end of July 2015 their claimed amounts in the course of the ongoing International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) arbitration proceedings concerning the delay to the OL3 project.

Secretary Moniz comments on Obamas Clean Power Plan

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz released the following statement after the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency issued their final Clean Power Plan rule that will encourage energy innovation by reducing the carbon emissions from America’s power plants.

Solarworld AG increases shipments in first half of 2015 by one third

SMA secures operations contract for UK PV power plant

Niestetal, Germany - SMA Solar Technology AG (SMA) has commenced full technical operational management of the Glebe/Odell Solar Farm near Wellingborough in the UK on behalf of bejulo GmbH. The plant consists of two sections with a cumulated output of almost 34 megawatts. SMA delivered 29 Sunny Central inverters for the project that commenced operation in March 2015 following a four month construction period.

Gamesa: revenues increase by 31 % in the first half of 2015

Zamudio, Spain - Spanish based wind tubine manufacturer Gamesa obtained 97 million Euro in net profit in the first half of 2015, more than double the figure in the same period of 2014, as a result of expanding commercial activity (+30.8%) and improved profitability. These results for the first half are aligned with the goals of profitable growth and a sound balance sheet set out by the Business Plan 2015-2017, which was unveiled in June.

Gamesa to install nine turbines to repower a wind farm in the UK

Zamudio, Spain - The Spanish based wind turbine manufacturer Gamesa has been contracted to supply nine wind turbines to repower the Ovenden Moor wind farm in the UK, developed by a joint venture between utility E.ON and renewable generator Energy Power Resources Ltd (EPRL). According to Gamesa by replacing the old turbines, the facility - in operation since 1993 - will be refitted with modern technology and produce twice as much power using less than half as many turbines.

SunPower to build 100-Megawatt solar power plant for NV Energy

Vestas wins 46 MW project in India

Aarhus, Denmark – Wind turbine manufacturer Vestas has received a firm and unconditional order for 23 V110-2.0 MW turbines for a wind power plant in the Indian State of Karnataka. The project, which is expected to power approximately 100,000 Indian households, includes a 15-year Active Output Management (AOM) 5000 service contract, in which Vestas guarantees a defined level of availability and performance.

Gamesa receives new order for the supply of 250 MW from India

Zamudio, Spain – Spanish based wind turbine manufacturer Gamesa has bolstered its position in India having received a new order for the supply of 250 MW to Orange, one of India's leading independent power producers (IPP). The company will install 125 of its G97-2.0 MW Class S wind turbines at three wind farms. With a tower height of 104 metres, the company has tailor-designed this variant - certified by TÜV NORD - for the Indian market with a view to maximising turbine performance at low wind speed sites.

Abengoa closes project financing for 110 MW solar power plant in Israel

Sevilla, Spain – The Spanish based technology company Abengoa announced that it has closed, together with its partner the Israeli global infrastructure group Shikun & Binui, the non-recourse project financing for Ashalim. The total investment of the project will be approximately USD 1 billion.
