New government in Australia pushes for an end to carbon tax
Canberra, Australia - The new conservative government in Australia under Prime Minister Tony Abbott (Liberal Party) has released the carbon tax repeal bill for public consideration.
Greg Hunt (Liberal Party), Minister for the Environment, maintains that these measures would lower costs for Australian businesses and manufacturers, boost growth, increase jobs and ease cost of living pressures for households. Instead of the carbon tax, which was enacted in 2012, the new Australian Government has set its sights on developing a new Emissions Reduction Fund, which is the centrepiece of the Australian government
