JA Solar snatches major order from British Solar Renewables

Shanghai- The manufacturer of high-performance solar power products

The Models will be used on a 7.8 MW solar farm in the south-western United Kingdom. The Shipments are expected to be complete during the first quarter of 2014 and follow the shipment of 30 MW of modules to four ground mounted projects of British Solar Renewables in 2013.

The key factor: Delivery against tight deadlines

The ability, to deliver high-efficiency solar products against tight deadlines was, for Mr. Baofang Jin, executive chairman and CEO of JA Solar, the key factor to win the project.

"We have built a strong partner base in the U.K., both in the residential and utility scale segments, and have seen growing demand for our high-efficiency products. Going into 2014, we are positioned to perform strongly in the fast-growing U.K. market", said Jin.

A long lifetime promises higher returns

British Solar Renewables CEO, Angus Mac Donald, is also happy about the formation of the contract. He especially looked after a good product-quality. "British Solar Renewables strives to be best in class in our PV build process and so demands premium products from the most reliable suppliers," so Mac Donald.

Alastair Mounsey, UK manager at JA Solar, thinks that beyond low costs a long lifetime is also necessary to improve the returns for the investors.
