Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung: pay off with nuclear energy lobby
Muenster, Germany – The Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung (F.A.S.) published a remarkable article which focuses on how the nuclear lobby promised the people heaven and earth.
The subject of accidents in nuclear power stations was treated in a very casual way too. According to Wolfgan Cartellieri, at that time the state secretary of the Ministry of Atomic Energy, said the accident risk can be compared to that of a hydro dam. In addition, the article criticizes that in order to operate nuclear power stations economically, safety issues were reduced as much as possible. In the field of nuclear waste, the Washington Department of Energy is heavily criticized in the article. It promoted the development of a ‘nuclear priesterhood’ which is meant “"o pass on the expertise of nuclear waste on the basis of religious doctrines".
