Senvion Installs 130 Megawatts in New Markets and Gets Two Orders from Ireland

Hamburg, Germany – The wind turbine manufacturer Senvion has announced the completion of installation of several wind farms in three of its newly entered markets within Europe totalling 130 megawatts (MW). Senvion also reports two new orders from Ireland.

The installation of 33 Senvion 3.4M114 turbines was recently completed at the 112 MW Egersund wind farm, in Rogaland, Norway. According to Senvion the project with Norsk Vind Egersund AS will have a total rated output of 112 MW and will produce enough green energy to power approximately 20,000 Norwegian households.

In Serbia, the country's Minister of Energy inaugurated the eight MW Malibunar wind farm featuring four Senvion MM100 turbines. Malibunar wind farm is located about 56 kilometers northeast of Belgrade. The wind farm will supply 7,200 Serbian households with clean electricity. As Senvion points out, the start of operation marks Senvion's successful market entry in the Balkans.

Senvion has also completed installation of its first wind farm in the Republic of Ireland. Teevurcher wind farm, located in County Meath, northwest of Dublin, features five MM82 wind turbines with a total output of 10 MW. The wind farm will supply enough clean energy to power approximately 7,000 Irish homes per year.

Besides the installation of the three wind farms Senvion received two new orders in Ireland after. Among those are the first Senvion 3.XM turbines to be installed on Irish soil.

Rathnacally wind farm, owned by renewable energy investor NTR, and located near Charleville in County Cork, will consist of two Senvion 3.2M114 turbines. The turbines will be delivered to site in the first half of 2018 and the wind farm is due to be operational in the second quarter of next year. This is the second Irish project Senvion has signed with NTR.

Senvion has also concluded its first contract with Galetech Energy to supply a mixture of ten 2 MW turbines for the Carrickallen wind farm in County Cavan. Two Senvion MM82 turbines with a hub height of 59 meters, seven Senvion MM92 turbines with a hub height of 74.5 meters and one MM92 with a hub height of 64 meters will be installed at the site. Delivery of the turbines will start in early summer next year with completion expected at the end of 2018.
