Nordex SE: Business in Germany continues to expand

- Largest individual order for a 60 MW project
- greater security following EEG amendment

Hamburg - The Nordex Group has received its largest individual order in Germany to date. The customer is PNE Wind AG, a project development company that has now placed an order with the turbine manufacturer for the delivery and installation of the “Chransdorf” wind farm. The project consists of altogether 24 Nordex N117/2400 wind turbines with a total installed capacity of 57.6 megawatts. Installation work is set to start as soon as November and the wind farm is due to go on grid in autumn 2015.

The project is located in a wooded area some 100 kilometres to the south-east of Berlin. Nordex will install the turbines, which are particularly suited for low wind conditions, on 141-metre towers. The wind farm will generate up to 183 gigawatt hours, with a capacity factor of 36 percent, which is above average for this location.

“It is good to see that business in Germany remains strong after the new Renewable Energy Law entered into force in August,” says Nordex Management Board member Lars Bondo Krogsgaard. ”We are very pleased to have been selected as supplier by PNE for one of the biggest projects in the market.”

Martin Billhardt, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of PNE WIND explains: “The wind farm “Chransdorf” will be the largest onshore project in our company\'s history. Again, we are happy to use modern and powerful wind turbines by Nordex and continue our longstanding cooperation to expand the use of wind energy.”
