Growing interest in the Nordex N131/3000

- First order for the Generation Delta light-wind turbine

Hamburg - Nordex has received the first order for the latest product of its Delta turbine generation. The manufacturer is to install eight N131/3000 machines for Bürgerwindpark Hollich Sellen GmbH & Co.KG in the 24-MW wind farm in Hollich-Sellen in the district of Steinfurt, North Rhine-Westphalia. Nordex CSO Lars Bondo Krogsgaard: “This order shows that there is a high level of confidence in our product. Although we will not be setting up the first N131/3000 until the end of the year, the Generation Delta technical platform has proved a success. In addition to this, we already have several approvals in accordance with German anti-pollution law for this turbine.”

One of the main reasons for choosing this turbine was its economic efficiency. The large rotor and the 3 MW rated capacity ensure that good yields are generated in regions with light winds. Nordex will be setting up the Hollich-Sellen turbines on 134-metre hybrid towers to enable the N131/3000 to take maximum advantage of the site.

Secondly, the local investors in the communal wind farm attach great importance to environmental compatibility. For instance, the low noise emission level of the turbine of max. 104.5 decibels is a major factor in the wind farm being accepted by local residents.

Furthermore, as an experienced operator the customer sets high standards in terms of service and has decided to sign a Nordex Premium Service contract for 15 years.

The final financing for the project is expected to be completed shortly. An option has also been agreed on an additional extension phase for the wind farm.

The N131/3000 is one focus of the Nordex presentation at Wind Energy Hamburg fair, to be held from 23 to 26 September. Nordex will be exhibiting the NR 65.5 rotor blade for this turbine below the “Messeturm” at the central main entrance to the fair.
