Nordex awarded contract for 45 MW wind farm in Turkey

Hamburg - In 2015 Nordex will be building the “Kiyiköy” wind farm close to the town of Saray in the north of the Turkish province of Tekirdag on the Black Sea coast for the Adali Holding. The order entails the delivery and installation of 15 Nordex N117/3000 Generation Delta turbines with a hub height of 91 metres plus a 10-year premium service contract.

In view of the moderate wind conditions with average speeds of 8 m/s, the robust N117/3000 turbine, which is certified for wind class IEC 2, promises an optimum yield. The fifteen turbines will be able to generate over 170,000 MWh of clean electricity per year, equivalent to a capacity factor of over 43%.

Nordex will be having the anchor cages, rotor blades and towers produced in Turkey. Thanks to this local manufacturing content, the customer will be able to claim a higher feed-in tariff.

Adali Holding is a conglomerate with activities in construction, tourism, project development, real estate and energy. It currently operates hydropower and geothermal power stations and has further wind energy licences for 150 MW. In total, Adali Holding has projects for Renewable Energy production in the Black Sea, Eastern Anatolia, Southeast Anatolia, Western Thrace and Aegean Regions and target of 300 MW installed power capacity all from renewable energy resources - wind and hydro.
