Nordex to build 65 MW wind farm in Ireland

- Order received for 26 Nordex N90/2500 turbines

Hamburg - Nordex has received a contract for the 65 MW “Knockduff” wind farm project, entailing the delivery and installation of a total of 26 N90/2500 wind turbines plus premium service for a minimum period of 15 years. The wind farm is to go into operation in August 2015.

The customer is project developer Green Energy Supply Ltd. The “Knockduff” project is located in County Cork in the south west of Ireland and the site offers good wind conditions at a speed of 8.5 m/s.

“Knockduff is our second largest project so far in Ireland and underscores that we are among the market leaders thanks to our efficient products,” says Lars Bondo Krogsgaard, a member of Nordex SE’s Management Board.

Since it established in Ireland 12 years ago, Nordex has installed a total of 204 turbines with a combined capacity of over 500 MW in Ireland. With the Knockduff project, the company will have a share of around 25 percent of the market.
