Nordex Finland: Frame contract for 216 MW for projects in 2016/17 signed

Hamburg - Hamburg, 26 January 2016 Nordex has signed a frame contract with the Finnish asset management company Taaleritehdas. The companies have agreed on the delivery of 72 N131/3000 turbines for six projects in 2016 and 2017.

The planned projects are intended for different IEC-3 sites in Finland. The customer has now called down the first two wind farms, \"Limakko\" and \"Kantti\", with a total of 17 turbines and 51 MW. Delivery is to be effected in the course of this year.

With this frame contract covering a total volume of 216 megawatts Nordex is strengthening its position in the important Finnish wind market, where the manufacturer has been operating through a subsidiary since 2011. The company has a particular advantage in Scandinavia with its anti-icing system, which makes it possible to increase the energy yield of turbines in cold regions by up to ten percent by reducing machine stops due to ice. The frame contract with Taaleritehdas also includes the anti-icing system in the supply schedule.

\"Nordex\'s strong footprint in Finland and its wealth of experience with turbines for cold regions were the key factors in deciding in favour of this second frame contract,\" says Director Taamir Fareed from Taaleritehdas.

\"We plan every new market entry very carefully and in Finland this has paid off. As a key account, particularly Taaleritehdas has made a major contribution to our success in Scandinavia. We will continue to justify their renewed confidence in us with good quality and dependable service,\" says Nordex CEO Lars Bondo Krogsgaard. The frame contract for the projects in 2016/17 is already the second this asset management company has concluded with Nordex. The manufacturer had supplied 36 N117/2400 turbines from the first contract in 2012.
