Press release

OSTWIND AG is expanding its managing board and planning to consolidate the company\'s international identity

\"A new approach to wind energy – on an international scale\"

Regensburg/Strasbourg/Prague - The OSTWIND Group, based in Regensburg, Strasbourg and Prague, has announced that it is expanding the managing board of the holding company OSTWIND AG. The announcement was made on the occasion of the upcoming WindEnergy 2014 in Hamburg, the new leading trade fair for the German wind power sector. Gisela Wendling-Lenz and Ulrich Lenz, the existing managing board members who together founded OSTWIND over 20 years ago, will be joined by Fabien Kayser from France and Bernd Kiermeier from Germany.

Gisela Wendling-Lenz and Ulrich Lenz explain the reasons behind this expansion: \"We wish to consolidate the company group\'s international identity and provide our family of companies with a more distinctly European profile.\" They add that the move is also a reaction to the restructuring of the support scheme for renewable energies brought about by the German Renewable Energy Act (EEG) 2014. \"This is a beacon for Germany, and could be a game-changer for the entire EU. We have been called on to forge a new approach to wind energy on an international scale – and we are now creating the foundations to make this a reality\", say this husband-and-wife team of entrepreneurs.

Fabien Kayser, a 45-year-old qualified engineer (ESTACA) from Strasbourg, has been at the helm of the French subsidiary OSTWIND International (OI) as its managing director for 12 years, and will now also serve as the OSTWING AG managing board\'s Head of Technology. The Fruges wind farm, which features a capacity of 140 MW and is still one of Europe\'s largest inland wind-farm projects, was created under his management. To date, OI has successfully implemented and connected up around 120 wind turbines in France, with an approximate capacity of 300 MW.

Bernd Kiermeier, 46, is a qualified business administrator and banker. The Regensburg native will join the OSTWIND AG managing board as the Head of Commerce, overseeing the areas of organisation and finance. Kiermeier\'s previous position was on the management board of a company group working in the property sector. He also stands out thanks to his many years of experience working in managerial positions in a medium-sized family company and within the banking and financing sectors.

The managing directors of the operating companies in Germany, Dr Rolf Bungart and Jörg Zinner, will continue to oversee the areas of project development and marketing, and project implementation respectively. They round off the OSTWIND Group\'s management team. This newly configured team will be appearing together for the first time at the wind energy trade fair in Hamburg (Hall A1-216, from 23 to 26 September 2014).

Here, OSTWIND is planning on once again using a comprehensive specialised programme to provide a thematic focus on the issues affecting the energy transition in Europe. Highlights include the France Forum on 24 September in collaboration with the Franco-German Office for Renewable Energies; a municipal forum on 25 September in collaboration with the Renewable Energies Agency; and a joint German-Czech event on 26 September together with the Max Bögl company group. You can find the entire programme, including all lectures and events, at www. ostwind.de.
