Nordex installing further wind farm for STEAG

- 17.5 MW project to go on line in France in 2016

Hamburg - Nordex SE has been awarded another contract for the delivery and installation of a wind farm for power producer STEAG New Energies including a 15-year premium service contract. Installation of the seven N100/2500 turbines is to commence in January 2016, with the 17.5 MW farm to go into operation in summer of the same year.

The “Cormainville” project is located roughly 120 kilometres south-west of Paris. Like the previous project “Onze Muids”, the wind farm has been planned by project developer Volkswind. “We are pleased to be working again with the participating companies, thus adding a further chapter to our long-standing joint activities,” says Dr. Stephan Nahrath, management spokesman of STEAG New Energies.

The turbines to be used in the wind farm have been designed for medium wind speeds and will yield an above-average capacity factor of around 34 percent for the project. Nordex installed what to date is its largest project for STEAG New Energies in Brandenburg with 18 multi-megawatt turbines. All told, STEAG New Energies operates wind farms with a total capacity of 118 MW in France, Germany and Poland.
