RENAC Expands Training Programme for Green Financing
Berlin, Germany - The implementation of climate protection measures requires knowledge and instruments of finance, but also technology-specific expertise on renewable energies and energy efficiency. In view of the growing demand, the Renewables Academy (RENAC), specialized in international training programmes, launched a special training programme in 2019.
"It is important for financiers to know technology-specific risks and risk avoidance strategies. This provides a comprehensive overview of the right assessment criteria at an early stage," says RENAC CEO Berthold Breid. "We are therefore delighted with the successful completion of the fully booked initial training. This shows the high demand for additional qualifications in this field. Only with this know-how in the financial sector can renewable energy projects be seriously evaluated both economically and technically ".
The 'Green Energy Finance Specialist' was developed in 2017 and was awarded the German Innovation Prize for Climate and Environment (IKU) as part of the 'Green Banking' project in South East Asia. The blended Learning Training, held in English, consists of a 20-week online training with eight different focal points and a 3-day presence seminar in Berlin. The "Green Energy Finance Specialist (GEFS)" programme is accredited by the Financial Accreditation Agency (FAA).
Graduates can obtain ECTS credits for the new blended learning programme 'Master of Science in Business Management' with a focus on 'Green Energy and Climate Finance'. This will be offered from October 2020 by RENAC in cooperation with the Berlin Professional School of the Berlin School of Economics and Law (HWR).
