RE-Grid Integration Week: Virtual series on grid integration of renewable energies

Darmstadt, Germany - In order to ensure stable grid operation in the future, renewable generation plants need to take over the power system operating functions traditionally delivered by conventional generators.

Renewable energy producers have already proven in many projects that they can provide these services, for example with the help of grid-forming measures. In the course of the implementation of the energy system transformation, grid integration is of great importance.

Against this background, the events of the virtual RE Grid Integration Week will take place in November, offering grid operators, plant manufacturers and research institutions a platform to discuss, among other things, various grid-forming measures, grid forming approaches and research and project experiences. The 10th Solar & Storage Integration Workshop (5.11.20) and 19th Wind Integration Workshop (11.-12.11.2020) will also be accompanied in 2020 by the free 4th E-Mobility Power System Integration Symposium (3.11.2020). The aim of the events is to stimulate interdisciplinary thinking between industry and academia by providing a platform for discussion and for sharing ideas and knowledge regarding the key issues in the field of large-scale integration of renewable energies. The organizer is Energynautics GmbH from Darmstadt.

Besides the special topic “Grid Forming Solutions”, the Wind Integration Workshop also offers a special session on IEA Wind Task 36 “Raising the bar on Information Transparency and recommended Practices for Wind Power Forecasting“ and a session on IEA Wind Tasks 25, 26, 37 titled „Grand Challenges in the Science of Wind Energy: Grid“. During the Solar Integration Workshop, experiences with hybrid power systems as well as batteries will also be presented. In addition to the conferences, Energynautics is also organizing two introductory tutorials on the topics of grid integration of electric vehicles (2.11.20) and system services of renewable energies (10.11.20).
