Portfolio Expansion: Deutsche Windtechnik Expands Service Offering For Gamesa Wind Turbines

Zaragoza, Spain / Bremen, Germany - For the first time in its history, the independent service provider Deutsche Windtechnik has signed a contract for the full maintenance of ten Gamesa G114 wind turbines. This makes the company the only service provider to support this turbine type in Europe.

Deutsche Windtechnik took over the turbines installed in Galicia, Spain, in March 2022, after the warranty had expired at the end of the second year of operation. The term of the agreement is four years.

"Building upon our many years of experience in providing maintenance for Gamesa G42 to G97 turbines, we are now in a position to extend our expertise to G114 systems. This is a groundbreaking step for us because there is a great need for maintenance for Gamesa systems worldwide," Diego Botero García, Managing Director of Deutsche Windtechnik S.L.U., welcomes the conclusion of the contract.

Currently, more than 50 percent of the wind turbines that Deutsche Windtechnik services in and from Spain are Gamesa turbines. That is about 1 GW of installed capacity. To meet the growing demand for Gamesa service, Deutsche Windtechnik has for the first time established a specialist department for a special turbine technology outside Germany: Five engineers and two technical writers provide technical support from Spain for the independent maintenance of Gamesa machines worldwide. The core tasks of the Gamesa team include troubleshooting, the creation of technical documentation, spare parts management, the qualification of service technicians, etc.

Deutsche Windtechnik AG, headquartered in Bremen, offers the complete package for the technical maintenance of onshore and offshore wind turbines from a single source in Europe, the USA and Taiwan. More than 7,500 wind turbines are serviced worldwide by over 2,000 employees through fixed maintenance contracts (basic maintenance and full maintenance). The focus of the turbine technology is on turbines from Vestas, Siemens, Nordex, Senvion, Fuhrländer, Gamesa, Enercon and GE.
