Update: Energynautics Assists IRENA With New Grid Code Report
Darmstadt, Germany - As global power systems have changed, renewable energy has become the cheapest available energy source in many regions around the globe. As a result, the share of variable renewable energy (VRE) in the grid has also increased significantly and continues to rise.
The recently published International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) report, "Grid Codes for Renewable Powered Systems," presents and explains the latest developments and best practices for grid connection codes for power systems with an increasing share of variable renewable energy. The IRENA report, "Grid Codes for Renewable Powered Systems," was developed as an update to the 2016 report, "Scaling up Variable Renewable Power: The Role of Grid Codes."
Energynautics, an energy consulting firm based in Darmstadt, Germany, worked with the IRENA team to prepare the report and supported global research on best practices and the latest developments. A series of interviews with international experts were also conducted to prepare the report's content.
The new IRENA report provides practical guidance and guidelines for policymakers, regulators, and other stakeholders involved in the development of grid connection codes. It is also particularly aimed at individuals and institutions from emerging and developing countries, Energynautics said of the new report.
