Pozna?, Poland / Bremen, Germany (renewablepress) - Deutsche Windtechnik's Polish unit has added 21 Enercon E82 turbines to its full-service portfolio. The wind farm Kiesilice, located in the northern area of Warmian-Masurian, receives maintenance for a period of 20 years starting in January 2021 as part of a full-maintenance contract with Equitix, a UK-based asset owner. This new contract will strengthen the company's position in the market and increase its level of experience with Enercon systems.

The addition of these wind turbines to the portfolio represents a growth of 42 MW for Deutsche Windtechnik Sp. z o. o., and it will help to strengthen the company's position in the Polish market, which now exceeds 200 MW of rated capacity under service contracts. Following the agreement with Equitix, the independent service provider is planning to open a new service centre near the wind farm to ensure rapid response times and state-of-the-art service, with personnel that have been hired specifically for this purpose.

Substantial growth for the company in Poland

Wojciech Luzniak, Country Manager for Deutsche Windtechnik in Poland, said: "We are very pleased to have signed this agreement. We are proud that our hard work is paying off and we are thankful for our team's dedication and the trust shown by our customer. This achievement means that our efforts to provide the best possible solution for the customer while maintaining our flexibility are paying off.”

Exceptionally long operation periods

The turbines at the wind farm have already been generating electricity for several years, but Polish regulations allow wind farms to produce energy for longer than the worldwide market standard of 20 years. Wind generators that regularly and successfully pass examinations and inspections can be active for up to thirty years in the central European country, which allows Deutsche Windtechnik Sp. z o. o. to service the farm for a long period.
