Gamesa diversifies strategy: cooperation with Toyota for e-mobility

In the context of a collarboration agreement, Toyota is supposed to lend Gamesa a plug-in hybrid vehicle for six months. Gamesa is in return expected to test the car, identify limiting factors and analyze its charging requirements in order to facilitate the mass market rollout of vehicles of this nature in Spain in the near term. As to company information, Gamesa wants to test drive the "Prius Plug In" in an urban environment as well as at a wind farm.

The collected data are destined to furnish the Spanish "Movele" initiative, of which Toyota is a member. As to Gamesa, this initiative is working on demonstrating the technical, energy and financial viability of electric cars. With the collaboration, Gamesa wants to further its technology diversification strategy. As to the company, Gamesa is working on the development of charging stations for electric vehicles.
