Deutsche Windtechnik Reaches New Record Level

Bremen, Germany - Deutsche Windtechnik, the international service provider for wind turbines, has reached a new milestone in its 13-year corporate history: As of the end of November, the company is servicing wind turbines with a rated output of more than 10,000 megawatts (MW) (10 gigawatts, GW) both nationally and internationally.

Of these, 66 percent of the turbines are serviced on a long-term basis according to full maintenance criteria, 34 percent receive basic maintenance. According to the company, this makes Deutsche Windtechnik the largest independent service provider (ISP) for wind turbines in Europe and probably worldwide.

With a share of 65 percent, more than half of the wind turbines maintained by Deutsche Windtechnik are installed in Germany. "This means we provide service for exactly ten percent of the total rated output of wind turbines currently installed in Germany. Ten years ago, it would have been a bold claim to say that an independent provider would one day provide service for systems on this scale," says Deutsche Windtechnik CEO Matthias Brandt. In the meantime, the service market in Germany has changed permanently and Deutsche Windtechnik is increasingly setting trends internationally and has become a constant for operators with a wide variety of requirements. For example, the proportion of international service contracts has risen significantly in recent years throughout Europe and recently also in the USA.

Parallel to the successively advancing internationalization of the company, Deutsche Windtechnik is continuously pursuing its expansion course by strengthening its staff, further developing its technology and by driving forward innovations. In addition to the strong internal growth, mergers with other successful independent service providers such as Windstrom Service, seebaWIND Service as well as GFW and psm Windservice have taken place again and again. Deutsche Windtechnik's multi-brand competencies are also reflected in the 10 GW system portfolio: Vestas / NEG Micon, Senvion and Siemens / AN Bonus turbines are most frequently serviced, followed by Nordex, Enercon, Fuhrländer and Gamesa. Less common technologies are also included, such as the Mitsubishi turbines for which service contracts were recently signed in the US. "Thanks to our mix of different technologies and our various markets, we are well-positioned for future growth onshore and offshore. The demand is there," Matthias Brandt added," adds Matthias Brandt with a view to further development.
