Brazil: Siemens Gamesa Closes Mega Deal for 465 MW of Wind Power Capacity

Zamudio, Spain - Wind turbine manufacturer Siemens Gamesa has received a major order from Brazil. The São Vitor wind farm in northeastern Brazil will be equipped with 75 Siemens Gamesa 5.8-170 turbines (6.2 MW capacity each) with OptimaFlex technology.

São Vitor, in the state of Bahia, is scheduled to be operational by the end of 2022. Essentia Energia will provide the energy produced at the site to a major electricity provider in the country through a power purchase agreement (PPA), Siemens Gamesa said. Essentia Energia is part of Patria Infrastructure IV, a closed-end private equity fund managed by Brazil's Patria Infrastructure.

Combined with a contract for the 312 MW Tucano wind farm, also in the state of Bahia, Siemens Gamesa has now registered 777 MW of orders for its 5.X platform in Brazil.
