Deutsche Windtechnik Successful in Poland

Poznan, Poland / Bremen, Germany - Deutsche Windtechnik has been awarded a full service contract for Enercon turbines in Poland. The portfolio of turbines serviced in Poland thus grows significantly for the service specialist.

With this order, Deutsche Windtechnik is benefiting from the long service life that is possible with wind turbines in Poland if they are regularly maintained.

Deutsche Windtechnik on course for growth in Poland

The Polish unit of Deutsche Windtechnik has added 21 Enercon E82 turbines to its full-service portfolio. Since January 2021, the wind energy service provider has been maintaining the Kiesilice wind farm in the northern part of the Warmian-Masurian region under a full-service contract for a period of 20 years. The client is Equitix, a UK-based asset owner. The new contract expands Deutsche Windtechnik's technical expertise in Poland and thus helps to strenghten the company's position in the market.

The addition of the wind turbines to the portfolio means growth of 42 MW for Deutsche Windtechnik Sp. z o. o. to a total capacity of now 200 MW, which is now contractually under maintenance by Deutsche Windtechnik in Poland. As part of the contract signing with Equitix, Deutsche Windtechnik plans to open a new service center near the wind farm to ensure fast response times and state-of-the-art service. The staff has been hired specifically for this project, according to Deutsche Windtechnik.

Significantly longer operating times possible in Poland

The turbines at the wind farm have already been generating electricity for several years. However, Polish regulations allow wind farms to produce energy for longer than the worldwide market standard of 20 years. Indeed, wind turbines that regularly and successfully pass examinations and inspections can be active for up to thirty years in Poland, which secures Deutsche Windtechnik Sp. z o. o. a long-term service contract for 20 years.
