Vestas and Nordex Score in Ukraine, Sweden and the Netherlands
Hamburg, Germany - The two wind turbine manufacturers Vestas and Nordex have received orders from Ukraine, Sweden and the Netherlands.
Vestas secures Enventus orders in Ukraine and Sweden
Vestas has secured its first order for Enventus platform turbines in the Eastern Europe region. The contract covers the supply, installation and commissioning of a total of 21 V162-6.0 MW wind turbines for the 126 MW DTEK Tiligulska project in Ukraine. The order also includes a long-term service contract with a term of 20 years. The Tiligulska project is being developed by DTEK Renewables, one of Ukraine's leading developers of renewable energy projects. The project is expected to be fully commissioned in the second quarter of 2022. The wind farm is located in the Mykolaiv region in southern Ukraine.
In addition, Vestas has received an Enventus order for the 67 MW Grönhult wind farm in Sweden. The client is the investment company The Renewables Infrastructure Group (TRIG). Vestas will supply, install and commission 12 V162-5.6-MW turbines. The order also includes a long-term service contract for 30 years. The first turbines for the project are scheduled for delivery in the second quarter of 2022, with commissioning expected in the fourth quarter of 2022. The Grönhult project was acquired by TRIG from Vattenfall in February 2021 and is ready for construction. The site is located in the Gislaved region in southwestern Sweden.
Nordex scores with Dutch developer of regional energy projects
Nordex reported back in mid-February that it had been awarded a contract for a total of 33 MW for a wind farm in the Netherlands. For the "Den Tol" wind farm, the wind turbine manufacturer will supply 9 N117/3600 turbines in 3.675 MW operating mode. The order also includes a premium service contract for the turbines covering a period of 25 years.
The "Den Tol" wind farm is being built in the east of the Netherlands near Netterden, close to the Dutch-German border. The wind farm was developed over several years by a group of local farmers together with Windunie Development, a Dutch specialist in the development and operation of local sustainable energy projects. Start installation of the turbines is scheduled for October 2021 and the wind farm is due to be completed in spring 2022.
Per turbine, Windpark Den Tol Exploitatie B.V. expects an annual yield of 9.8 million kilowatt hours of wind power. At an average consumption of about 15 KWh/100 km, this would be mathematically correspond to the elextricity requirements of 6,500 electric cars for each 10,000 kilometers of driven distance, Nordex said.
Vestas and Nordex shares in reverse gear
The shares of the two wind energy companies were also unable to escape the downward trend on the stock market in recent weeks. Currently, Vestas shares are trading at a price of EUR 152,25 (03.03.2021, 9:26 a.m., Stuttgart Stock Exchange), around 29 percent below their annual high of EUR 215.6 on 08.01.2021. Nordex shares are currently trading at a price of EUR 21.58 (03.03.2021, 9:21 a.m., Stuttgart Stock Exchange), around 20 percent below their previous annual high of EUR 27.16 on 08.01.21.
