Eastern European Wind Market: Vestas Receives Orders For 50 MW For Wind Farms In Poland

Hamburg, Germany - Vestas has received two orders in Poland totaling 50 MW from the project joint venture between V-Ridium Power Group and independent investment and asset manager KGAL.

The orders include the supply and installation of turbines for the Podlasek (15 MW) and Wolka Dobrynska (35 MW) wind farm projects, both of which are scheduled to be fully commissioned by the end of 2022.

Vestas will supply and install seven V110 2.0 MW turbines with a capacity of 2.2 MW for the Podlasek project. The wind farm is located near the village of Podlasek, about 100 km south of Gdansk. Vestas will install ten 3.45 MW V126 turbines at the Wolka Dobrynska wind farm, located in eastern Poland about 18 km northeast of the town of Biala Podlaska in the Lubelskie voivodeship. Vestas has also signed long-term service contracts for the two wind farms over a period of 30 years.

Deliveries are expected to start in the third quarter of 2022, with full commissioning of both projects scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2022.

Both projects were awarded in the third Polish renewable energy auction. Together with the two new wind farms, Vestas' installed wind power capacity in Poland increases to more than 2,600 MW (2.6 GW).

Vestas shares have been moving sideways this week and are currently trading at €34.11, down 0.3 percent from the previous week's close (Aug. 27, 2021, 09:26 a.m., Stuttgart Stock Exchange).
