Capcora Advises On Bridge Financing: Vodasun Receives Further Growth Capital

Frankfurt am Main, Germany - With the introduction of the EEG 2021, a new tender segment was introduced in Germany specifically for rooftop PV systems and systems on noise barriers with a capacity of 300 kWp or more.

Previously, larger rooftop systems still had to compete against ground-mounted systems in the auctions. This new constellation allows new opportunities for roof developers like Vodasun.

Against this background, the Munich-based Vodasun Group is increasing an existing bridge financing facility to EUR 9 million, thus setting the course for further growth in the rooftop PV market. Only in November 2020, the revolving line was expanded from 5.5 to 7.5 million euros. Vodasun was accompanied in the financing as financial advisor by Capcora, a consulting firm specialized in real assets.

By increasing the credit line, Vodasun is adapting to market changes. On the one hand, tender projects can now be planned larger, which increases the financing requirement per project. On the other hand, the plants have to be realized within only 12 months, which makes it necessary to implement the financing quickly.

"In 2022 alone, 2,300 MW of rooftop capacity will be put out to bid. This presents us with an unprecedented opportunity. At the same time, due to optimization of our financing channels, we can continue to supply the market for small plants up to 300 kWp," said Jakob Katzendobler, owner of the Vodasun Group.
