Wind Energy: Nordex Group Receives Further Order For 131 MW From Peru

Hamburg, Germany - Wind turbine manufacturer Nordex has been awarded a further international contract for the supply of electricity in South America. At the end of March 2022, the Nordex Group received an order by Spanish project developer Acciona Energía for the delivery of wind turbines with a capacity of 131 MW in Peru.

The Nordex Group will supply 23 N163/5.X turbines of the Delta4000 series for the "San Juan de Marcona" wind farm. This is the first order from the Andean country for this turbine type with a rotor diameter of 163 meters and a flexible rated output in the 5 MW class. The turbines will be commissioned by Nordex by the end of 2023.

The "San Juan de Marcona" wind farm is being built near the coastal town of the same name in the Marcona district of Nasca province in the Ica region in the south-west of Peru. Average wind speeds in excess of 9 m/s at the site near the Pacific coast mean that high electricity production can be expected.

This is the third order from Peru for the Nordex Group. The Nordex Group completed the first wind farm in the country with 132 MW in 2018. Currently, another wind farm with 177 MW is under construction.

Nordex stock is currently trading down 1.2 percent at EUR 16.19 (April 13, 2022, 4.45 p.m., Stuttgart Stock Exchange). This means that Nordex stock, which is listed in the global stock index RENIXX World (Renewable Energy Industrial Index), has already gained 16 percent in 2022 and currently ranks at the top of the RENIXX wind stocks ahead of Vestas (+2.4 percent), Goldwind (-18.2 percent) and Siemens Gamesa (-28.2 percent).Array
