High Demand: Nordex Increases Order Intake In The Second Quarter Of 2022
Hamburg, Germany - Wind turbine manufacturer Nordex collected significantly more orders from April to June 2022 than in the same period last year. Including a further 200 MW project from the US, Nordex's order intake reached a total of 1,836 MW (Q2 2021: 1,534 MW).
The high-margin Delta4000 wind turbines are doing particularly well. According to Nordex, their share amounted to 93 percent in the second quarter (Q2/2021: 89 percent). Of the total order volume in the second quarter, Europe accounted for approximately 58 percent, Latin America for approximately 31 percent and North America for 11 percent.
The trend towards more powerful wind turbines continues unabated. 65 percent of firm new orders are for turbine models with more than 5 MW of installed nominal output.
José Luis Blanco, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Nordex Group, is satisfied with the performance and confident for the year as a whole: "In the second quarter we benefited again from our strong market position in Europe. However, we also recorded a high demand for our Delta4000 series outside Europe and achieved an order intake of around 780 MW here. With an order intake of around 3 GW in the first half of the year, we are starting the second half of the year on a stronger footing."
