Nel ASA Receives Record Size Purchase of Electrolyser Equipment

Oslo, Norway - Nel Hydrogen Electrolyser AS, subsidiary of Norway's Nel ASA, has received the largest order ever for the supply of electrolysers for hydrogen production from an undisclosed US customer. The record order includes alkaline electrolysers with a capacity of 200 MW for industrial applications.

"We are very pleased to announce the largest order ever for Nel. This project will demonstrate Nel's delivery and execution capabilities on a large scale and will be a valuable reference for future large orders," says Håkon Volldal, Nel's CEO.

The order for the electrolyzer stacks is a firm order worth more than 45 million euros. Production and delivery of the stacks is planned from February 2023 to mid-2024 at Nel's electrolyzer production facilities on Herøya. Depending on an ongoing technical study, Nel may also have the option to supply additional equipment for the project.
