Successful Start To Q3: Nordex Receives 10 Orders From Germany

Hamburg, Germany - Wind turbine manufacturer Nordex got off to a buoyant start to the new quarter in the German market in July 2022. The ten new orders with 102 MW of wind power capacity are for wind farm projects in Baden-Württemberg, North Rhine-Westphalia and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, among others.

The most popular turbine type was the N163/5.X with a capacity of 5 MW, but Nordex also scored with the 6 MW variant. Karsten Brüggemann, Vice President Region Central of the Nordex Group: "With the legislative packages adopted before the summer break and the "Onshore Wind Energy Act", politics in Germany has created a clear political basis at the federal level. Now it is the turn of the federal states and municipalities to quickly designate more areas and approve turbines - only then will it be possible to become independent of fossil fuels. The technology for this is available."

In the first half of 2022, the Nordex Group installed 95 turbines with 440 MW in Germany. However, not all wind turbines have been able to go into operation as planned.

In the Market Master Data Register (MaStR) of the German Federal Network Agency (BNetzA), only those reported turbines that have gone into operation and are producing electricity are registered. According to MaStR, a total of 49 Nordex turbines with a capacity of 195.7 MW, i.e. around half of the turbines erected, have also gone into operation so far in 2022 (data status: July 2022, update: August 14, 2022). A significant increase in Nordex figures is therefore still to be expected by the end of the current year.
