Next Milestone: Wpd Windmanager Breaks 6 GW Mark In Operational Management
Bremen, Germany - Bremen-based operations manager Wpd Windmanager continues to grow and has significantly expanded the portfolio it manages in wind farm and solar park management. The company has now reached another milestone with the 6 GW mark.
"The German market has regained momentum. But we have also added a large number of new projects internationally. The 6 gigawatts are an important milestone for us. There are not many operations managers in the market with comparable volumes", says Till Schorer, Director Customer Relations at Wpd Windmanager.
The bulk of the 6 GW is still concentrated on the core market in Germany. Here, Wpd Windmanager manages over 3,500 MW of capacity for investment companies, municipal utilities, operators and investors. But the international share is also increasing: 2,500 MW are distributed across the various target markets in Europe, Asia and South America. The largest market besides Germany is currently France with 590 MW of total capacity. Wpd Windmanager is currently recording the greatest growth in Poland. The company now manages around 400 MW here. Four years ago the volume was only 95 MW.
"In the future, the international area will grow even more significantly. On the one hand through new target markets, on the other hand through many new projects in our existing countries", says Henning Rüpke, Director International Operations, looking ahead to the further international growth.
With the expansion of its capacity, Wpd Windmanager has also continued to grow as a company. Since 2020, the operating company has added eight new locations. With Sweden, Spain and Chile, Wpd Windmanager is represented in three new markets. In the same period, three companies were integrated: PSM, Oltec Service and Deutsche Windtechnik Umspannwerke. In addition, Wpd Windmanager successfully completed its ISO certification. The workforce was also further expanded. The company currently employs 520 people who look after the 507 wind farms with 2,721 wind turbines and 78 solar farms.
