Transaction: First Solar Completes Sale of 141-MW PV Power Plant in Chile - Stock Climbs

Tempe, USA - First Solar has completed the sale of its 141-megawatt (MW) Luz del Norte solar power plant, to Toesca, an independent asset manager headquartered in Las Condes, Chile.

The project is located in Copiapó in the Atacama region of Chile. U.S.-based First Solar, which specializes in thin-film solar technology, had announced in its Q3 2022 financial results that it intended to enter into an agreement to sell the facility. The terms of the transaction, which was completed in December, 2022, were not disclosed.

First Solar's shares were the best performing stock in the RENIXX in 2022, rising 78 percent to €136.42. In the new year 2023, First Solar has so far continued its positive development. Since the turn of the year, the share has gained a further 21.1 percent to 165.24 euros (closing price 12.01.2023, Stuttgart Stock Exchange).
