Wpd Sees Itself Well Prepared For The Future - Wind Market is Growing
Bremen, Germany - Following its successful appearance at Husum Wind, Wpd is optimistic about the German market.
Overall, the Bremen-based developer and operator sees itself in a good position. In Germany, Wpd expects wind onshore to be in the region of 330 MW by 2023. "We notice that the number of approved projects is growing. The new political framework conditions are beginning to bear fruit," explains COO Dr Hartmut Brösamle.
Internationally, too, Wpd shows itself to be well equipped for the future. After the successes in Italy, where the first onshore project has been implemented, and the construction of the 100th turbine in Finland as well as the 200th commissioning in Taiwan, a whole series of wind farms are currently under construction in France - commissioning is planned for this year.
While the company continues to grow dynamically, there has been a change: With the entry in the Commercial Register of the Bremen District Court on 21 September 2023, the change in legal form of wpd AG to wpd GmbH has been completed. "An IPO is still not planned and with this change we are underlining our medium-sized origins," says CFO Björn Nullmeyer.
