Training Capacities to be Expanded: Deutsche Windtechnik Opens New Training Center Near Osnabrück

Bissendorf, Bremen / Germany - Deutsche Windtechnik is further expanding its training capacities. The new Training Center in Bissendorf near Osnabrück has officially opened now. The new facility provides the steadily growing company with important new capacities for the technical qualification of its employees - both nationally and internationally.

The new Training Center is housed in an 800 m2 warehouse in the industrial area of Bissendorf. The training courses in Bissendorf focus on the technical training and further training of the company's own service technicians, with the emphasis on servicing Senvion and Nordex turbines. Of particular note from Deutsche Windtechnik's perspective are two original, fully functional Senvion MM 82 and Nordex N90 nacelles. The service technicians can train the basics of technical operation and maintenance, including troubleshooting, on both turbines under almost real conditions.

“The turbines can actually do everything except generate electricity. This enables participants to familiarise themselves with different control system scenarios, for example. They can perform tests ranging all the way up to major troubleshooting. Our aim is to train these activities under conditions that are as practical and real as possible,” says Momme Feddersen, Head of Training Center Deutsche Windtechnik.

The new location in Bissendorf complements the training capacities in Viöl near Husum (focus on the turbine technologies Vestas, Siemens, Enercon and Senvion) and in Bremen (focus on safety training).

In order to ensure that training is as personal as possible, the number of participants in courses focusing on turbine technology is limited to just four or, in some cases, eight. The safety weeks in Viöl and Bissendorf also only include 12 service technicians per course.

“The quality of our service in the field is a clear indicator that our practical training on original turbines achieves very good results. In Bissendorf, we have created another important learning location based on this training strategy that is already in use at the Viöl Training Center. And with additional system technology,” adds Severin Mielimonka, Managing Director of Deutsche Windtechnik GmbH & Co. KG with a view to the expanded training offer.
