Cooperation is Expanded: Neoen And Equinix Sign Their First PPA in Italy
Paris, France - French independent power producer Neoen and Equinix, the world's largest digital infrastructure company, have signed a 10-year, 53 MW power purchase agreement (PPA) for seven newly built solar projects.
The PPA covers seven Neoen projects in northern Italy, located close to Equinix's data centers in Milan and Genoa.
It is the first PPA signed between Neoen and Equinix in Italy and the fifth in Europe in the last three years. The five PPAs represent a total contracted capacity of 210 MW in Finland, Sweden and now Italy. The PPA brings Neoen's total contracted capacity under corporate PPAs worldwide to over 2,800 MW (2.8 GW) and Equinix's total contracted capacity under long-term renewable energy contracts worldwide to around 1,200 MW (1.2 GW).
Equinix is increasingly focused on expanding the scale and quality of its renewable energy portfolio and to date has signed a total of 24 power purchase agreements in Australia, Singapore, India, France, Iberia, Italy, the Nordics and the US - including 15 PPAs to be signed in 2023 alone.
Neoen's share price rose by 0.9 percent to EUR 39.44 yesterday (closing price, 26.11.2024, Stuttgart Stock Exchange). Compared to the price at the turn of the year, this represents an increase of 31 percent.
