Year-End Business: Vestas Collects Orders From Europe, The USA And New Zealand at The End of The Year - Share Price up

Aarhus, Denmark - The Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas has announced a series of orders this week with a total capacity of 666 MW including long-term service contracts. With a total of 503 MW, the focus of the orders is on European markets.

The largest order for 35 V162-6.5 MW turbines with an output of 224 MW comes from Sweden. The client is Vinliden Vindkraft AB. The turbines are to be installed in the Fjällberg (24 turbines, 154 MW) and Vinliden (11 turbines, 70 MW) wind farms. The projects are a joint venture of funds managed by Prime Capital AG and Polhem Infra, a leading investor in renewable energy and infrastructure in the Nordic countries. Delivery of the turbines is expected to start in the second quarter of 2026, with commissioning scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2026.

The second largest order for Strathy South in Scotland comprises the delivery, installation and commissioning of 35 V162-6.2 MW wind turbines with a total capacity of 217 MW. The customer is SSE Generation Limited from the UK. The order marks the first deployment of V162-6.2 MW turbines in the UK. Delivery of the turbines is scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2026, with commissioning planned for the third quarter of 2027.

The third order from Europe comes from Germany. The client is Meridian Windpark Günstedt GmbH & Co. KG. The order for the unspecified Günstedt wind farm comprises 10 V162-6.2 MW turbines with a total output of 62 MW. Delivery is planned for the third quarter of 2026, with commissioning scheduled for the first quarter of 2027.

The renewable project developer and operator Brookfield Renewable has placed an order for V163-4.5 MW turbines with a total capacity of 86 MW for the Mulqueeney wind farm project in the USA. Turbine delivery is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2025, with commissioning planned for the first quarter of 2026.

The fifth order from Mercury Energy comprises the delivery of 12 V162-6.3 MW turbines with a total capacity of 77 MW. The turbines are intended for the Kaiwaikawe wind farm in New Zealand. Delivery and commissioning of the turbines are scheduled for 2026.

The Vestas share slipped into the red yesterday afternoon and ended the trading day with a loss of 2.1 percent to 12.90 euros (closing price, 19.12.2024, Stuttgart Stock Exchange).
