Own Generation Portfolio Grows: PNE Receives Permits For Two New Wind Farms And a Solar Park
Cuxhaven, Germany – The wind and solar project developer PNE has received approval from the permitting authorities for the construction and operation of two onshore wind farms in Hesse and a ground-mounted photovoltaic power plant in Brandenburg. The permits mark an important milestone for the further expansion of PNE Group's in-house portfolio.
The Welsche-Lied wind farm in northern Hesse, with a total capacity of 27.8 MW, is planned to consist of 4 turbines. According to the current status quo, 3 turbines with 7.2 MW each and 1 turbine with 6.2 MW are planned.
The Altlandsberg photovoltaic power plant is located in the town of the same name in Brandenburg. It is equipped with around 200,200 modules and has a total rated output of around 124 MWp.
With a total nominal capacity of 184.8 MW, the two wind farms and the photovoltaic system, once operational, are expected to cover the annual electricity consumption of around 73,000 three-person households, according to PNE.
“The licences received are an important step for our further growth. They give us the opportunity to further expand our own generation portfolio,” comments Heiko Wuttke, CEO of PNE AG, on the approvals.
The PNE Group's strategy focuses on growth across all areas, with a balanced mix of project sales and the expansion of its own wind and photovoltaic parks. The medium-term goals for project development remain ambitious: by 2027, the in-house portfolio is set to reach 1.1 GW in operation or under construction, and the project pipeline should encompass 10 to 15 GW.
