Nordex to install 62.7 MW wind farm in the Netherlands

- Start of construction for project with new N100/3300 Generation Delta turbines

Hamburg - Nordex secures order for Generation Delta in the Netherlands: The company will be installing the Delfzijl-Noord wind farm for its customer Eneco Wind BV from autumn 2014. A total of 19 strong-wind N100/3300 turbines are to be connected to the grid latest in March 2015, supplying 55,000 households with green electricity. The order, which was booked in the 1st quarter of 2014, also comprises a premium service contract covering a period of fifteen years, under which Nordex will be establishing a service point close to the wind farm in Delfzijl.

With a total output of 62.7 megawatts, Delfzijl-Noord will be built 1.5 kilometres from the town Delfzijl in the North-East of the Netherlands. The site is near the coast on the Schermdijk and the Pier van Oterdum, where wind conditions are rough, thus necessitating efficient and powerful turbines. The Nordex N100/3300 Generation Delta turbine with a nominal output of 3.3 megawatt and a 100 metres rotor fit the challenging conditions well. If needed, the product can be run in sound-optimised cycles so as to interfere as little as possible with the environment and close-by dwellings.

“We are pleased that construction works now started at the Delfzijl-Noord wind farm and that our strong-wind turbines N100/3300 of the Generation Delta soon will show their high performance at this site. Also, I am proud that Eneco once more has opted for us is again a real proof of his confidence in our team and our technology“, says Lars Bondo Krogsgaard, member of the Management Board of Nordex SE.
Pieter Tavenier, director Wind at Eneco: “We are very pleased that Nordex will be the supplier of the 19 wind turbines of our largest Dutch wind farm Delfzijl-Noord. The partnership is in line with Eneco’s strategy to work together with organisations that share our values and enable Eneco to achieve its mission to supply ‘sustainable energy for everyone’.

A short while ago Nordex also had signed a contract with Eneco for the Scottish “Moy” project comprising 20 N100/3300 Generation Delta turbines.
