Andritz receives 107-million-order for Egyptian hydropower plant

Graz/Vienna, Austria

As to own information, Andritz is supposed to supply and install four bulb turbines with a total output of 32 MW, generators, and the electrical and hydromechanical equipment for the rebuild of the Assiut barrage. This rebuild is intended to improve improve the conditions for irrigation and shipping, but also to generate electricity from renewable hydropower. The contract is scheduled to be put into force during the first quarter of 2012 and electricity is supposed to be produced from 2017 on.
