With the connection to the grid of the 86 MW Dyason's Klip 2 solar power plant, the three Upington solar power plants in South Africa with a total capacity of 258 MW are now fully operational.
“We are proud to have achieved this major milestone. Power supply is considered critical infrastructure, and we are pleased to be supporting South African power supply with renewable energy to another 40,000 households annually, said Raymond Carlsen, CEO of Scatec Solar.
The Upington solar project consists of three sub-projects that were awarded in the fourth round of the Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Programme (REIPP) in South Africa.
