Energiequelle And Aedes Energies Launch Joint Venture In France

Kallinchen, Germany / Floirac, France - The solar market in France is developing with increasing momentum. The German project developer Energiequelle has reached an important milestone in the French market.

Together with Aedes Energie, Energiequelle has founded a joint venture with the aim of jointly implementing photovoltaic projects. The holding company, Aedes-Energiequelle, based in France, will sponsor various PV project companies with a total capacity of more than 100 MWp.

The initial portfolio consists of various greenfield sites in the Dordogne, Lot-et-Garonne, Nièvre, Gers and Haute-Marne departments and will be gradually populated with other projects. The electricity produced is to be sold either via a feed-in tariff or via direct marketing (PPA), depending on site suitability. Initial commissioning is planned from 2024.

As part of the collaboration, Aedes Energies is responsible for project development until official permits are granted. P&T Technologie, Energiequelle's French subsidiary, will be responsible for technical development, construction and, later, operational management. Energiequelle, in turn, will manage the financing and sale of the completed projects from Germany.

"This additional partnership fully contributes to our strategy of growth and territorial expansion in France", said Thomas Guirous, president and CEO of Aedes Energies, welcoming the cooperation with Energiequelle. "With Aedes, we are strengthening our market position in France and expanding our PV portfolio. This is important because photovoltaics are becoming a pillar of our business activities in France alongside the wind business," adds Kristina Greene, who is responsible for project acquisition and cooperations in France for Energiequelle.

About the companies:

Together with its subsidiary P&T Technologie, Energiequelle has been active in the French market since 2010 and has since connected over 240 MW of wind and PV capacity to the grid.

Aedes Energies is an independent French operator with sites in Bordeaux, Chauny and Aix-en-Provence.
