Growing Market Momentum: Deutsche Windtechnik Establishes Offshore Wind Unit in Poland

Bremen, Germany - In the course of implementing the energy transition, Poland has significantly raised its targets for the expansion of onshore and offshore wind energy in recent years. This also improves the framework conditions for players in the Polish offshore wind market.

According to the Polish Wind Energy Association, offshore wind energy is planned to expand to 5,900 MW (5.9 GW) in 2030 and 18,000 MW (18 GW) in 2040. Onshore turbines with a capacity of 14,000 MW (14 GW) are to be installed in 2030, and the target is 20,000 MW (20 GW) in 2040. So Poland has now approved several sections for the development of offshore wind farms in its exclusive economic zone.

In this dynamic market environment, Deutsche Windtechnik has established its own offshore unit in Poland, Deutsche Windtechnik Offshore sp. z o.o., supported by increasing demand for consulting services in the field of maintenance. Country Manager of the unit, which was founded on March 15, 2023, is Wojciech ?u?niak. He has already been managing the Polish onshore unit of Deutsche Windtechnik for several years.

In Poland, the entrepreneurial focus of Deutsche Windtechnik has so far been on onshore service - the polish onshore unit provides maintenance for more than 350 MW as part of long-term service contracts.
