PV Market Italy: Juwi Sells Two Ground-mounted Solar Plants in Veneto to A2A Group

Wörrstadt, Germany - Project developer Juwi has sold two approved solar parks with a total capacity of around 17.5 megawatts (MW) in the Veneto region of Italy to A2A Group via its Italian subsidiary Juwi Energie Rinnovabili S.r.l.. The contracts have now been signed. Both parks were developed by Juwi.

Construction is scheduled to start in 2024. Once operational, the solar parks are expected to generate a combined total of more than 25 million kilowatt hours (kWh) of climate-friendly electricity per year, reducing CO2 emissions by around 10,500 tons.

Currently, Italy still has an implementation backlog in the solar sector of more than 15,000 MW (15 GW). However, there are signs of a trend reversal in both the solar and wind sectors towards faster approval of projects, both at local and national level, which is a positive signal for investors and stakeholders, Juwi said.

Juwi believes it is well positioned in the emerging market. " JUWI’s pipeline of projects under permitting in Italy is currently above 500 MWp, projects that we develop from early stage to the very end of the authorization process. Our end-to-end approach to the business gives us a special and unique view on the market, where precision, attention to detail and dedication are the main pillars. We are currently growing our EPC and O&M business, including revamping and repowering of existing plants", said Daniele Moriconi, managing director of Juwi's Italian subsidiary.

The Juwi Group offers complete project development as well as other services related to the planning, construction and operational management of renewable energy plants. The company belongs to the Mannheim-based MVV Energie AG. Juwi employs around 1,300 people worldwide and has projects on all continents. To date, Juwi has realized more than 1,200 wind turbines with a capacity of more than 2,900 MW worldwide in the wind segment; in the solar segment, there are around 2,000 PV plants with a total capacity of about 3,750 MW. Juwi's operational management looks after wind energy and photovoltaic plants with a capacity of more than 4,100 MW.
