Green Light for VSB Solar Park: VSB to Launch Agri-PV Plant Supplying 3,800 Households in Italy
Dresden (Germany) – The Italian subsidiary of the VSB Group has received the “Autorizzazione Unica” for an agri-photovoltaic project in Roseto degli Abruzzi, in the Province of Teramo. Covering approximately 11.6 hectares, the 7.24 MW solar park is scheduled for completion by 2026 and will combine solar power generation with active agricultural use.
The site will be cultivated according to a crop rotation plan, alternating vegetables such as asparagus and artichokes with forage crops like clover. According to VSB, this approach helps to preserve soil fertility and strengthen the local agricultural economy.
“This project demonstrates how agriculture and the energy transition can go hand in hand. It also reflects the professionalism and teamwork that have driven this innovative, locally integrated initiative,” says Francesco Rossi, Managing Director of VSB Italy.
“Securing approval for such an advanced agrivoltaic project demonstrates not only technical excellence, but also a deep respect for the local context. It reflects our commitment to sustainable innovation and to shaping the energy transition in close harmony with regional development,” adds VSB CEO Dr. Felix Grolman.
