© Dark Sky GmbHPrenzlau (renewablepress) - Dark Sky and ENERTRAG Systemtechnik are continuing to expand their activities in the Dutch wind energy market. Following the signing of the contract for the supply and installation of Aircraft Detection Lighting Systems (ADLS) for wind farms in the province of Limburg, the first phase of the project has now been successfully completed. Two wind farms have already been equipped with the systems, with additional installations scheduled over the coming weeks.
The project builds on the successful implementation of ADLS installations in the northern Netherlands. The systems activate the obstruction lighting of wind turbines only when an aircraft approaches the relevant airspace. As a result, the lights remain switched off for the vast majority of the operating time, reducing light emissions while ensuring full compliance with aviation safety requirements.
Following completion of the installations, the approval process by the Dutch authority Inspectie Leefomgeving en Transport (ILT) will commence. As part of this process, flight tests will be conducted to verify the reliable performance of the systems under real operating conditions.
“With the successful project in Limburg, we are consistently pursuing our international growth strategy. The Netherlands is a strategically important market for us. Together with our partners, we aim to equip additional wind farms with intelligent ADLS technology, combining aviation safety, public acceptance of wind energy, and sustainability,” says Andreas Jurchen, Head of Sales for Dark Sky GmbH and ENERTRAG Systemtechnik GmbH.
Through these projects, Dark Sky and ENERTRAG Systemtechnik are strengthening their position in the Dutch market and responding to the growing demand for aircraft detection lighting systems for wind turbines. While ENERTRAG Systemtechnik contributes its expertise in the development and manufacturing of obstruction lighting systems, Dark Sky GmbH is responsible for the regulatory framework governing the operation of Aircraft Detection Lighting Systems (ADLS), covering everything from regulatory approval and system integration to operation and after-sales service.
