E-Mobility: Tesla Misses Delivery Targets in Q4 2022 - Share Under Pressure

Austin, USA - US electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla has reported its production and sales figures for the fourth quarter of 2022 (Q4 2022) and the full year 2022.

Tesla produced 439,701 vehicles and delivered 405,278 vehicles in the fourth quarter, each setting a new record. Compared to the previous quarter, Q3 2022, that's a 20 percent increase in production and an 18 percent increase in deliveries. In terms of full-year 2022, Tesla produced a total of 1.37 million vehicles, up 47 percent year-over-year. Deliveries increased 40 percent to 1.31 million vehicles in 2022.

Despite setting another delivery record in the fourth quarter, Tesla missed analysts' expectations. These had expected more than 431,000 vehicles delivered in the past quarter. The U.S. electric vehicle giant is struggling with logistics problems, including an extended closure of the production facility in Shanghai. In addition, according to media reports, demand is weakening due to rising key interest rates and fears of recession.

After the announcement of the production and delivery figures, the Tesla share was under powerful pressure in yesterday's trading. At the end of the trading day, the RENIXX Group share exited trading with a loss of 10.4 percent to a price of 102.46 euros (closing price, 03.01.2023, Stuttgart Stock Exchange). This continues the downward trend for Tesla shares, which rank at the bottom of the RENIXX with a loss of around 65 percent in 2022.
