Repowering Planned: Qualitas Energy Acquires Majority Stake in Eastern German Wind Farm

Berlin, Germany - The investment and management platform Qualitas Energy has acquired a 55 percent stake in the project rights to a wind farm in eastern Germany from the Danish renewable energy company European Energy.

In addition to the transfer of project rights for the unspecified project, both parties have agreed on a joint development partnership for the repowering of the existing turbines. The aim is to more than double the total capacity to 65 MW and significantly increase the energy yield by modernising the turbines. According to Qualitas Energy, the repowering will quadruple the amount of electricity generated while simultaneously reducing the number of turbines.

One focus of Qualitas Energy's business activities is on projects to implement the energy transition in Germany. The company plans to increase its German portfolio to a capacity of over 6,000 MW (6 GW) in the wind energy sector with a pipeline of more than 50 projects.

Qualitas Energy relies on comprehensive expertise and internal capacities along the entire renewable value chain. From acquisition and development through to construction and operation, the company claims to have a high level of efficiency that will enable it to achieve its ambitious targets.
